Rekey vs. Replace: Which Should You Choose?
Rekeying changes the internal pins of your existing lock so old keys no longer work. It's faster and cheaper than replacing the hardware.
Replace your lock if it's damaged, worn out, low-grade, or if you want to upgrade to a higher security or smart lock.
If you just moved in or had keys stolen, rekeying is usually enough. If your hardware is older than 10 years, replace.
